Brooke Glen Hosts Gabe and Herbie the Lovebug (In Collaboration with OC87 Recovery Diaries)
Patients and staff got to meet Herbie the Lovebug as presented by Gabe from OC87 Recovery Diaries. Gabe talked to patients about his recovery journey and how his recreation of Herbie has helped him open up to people in a way that he never thought would. When reflecting upon his visit to Brooke Glen, Gabe said, “it’s just another piece of the puzzle, another thing that gets people looking, talking, and connecting, and that may be just as important as any med or therapeutic modality out there. If we’re looking at each other and talking to each other and listening to each other, we’re not hurting each other, or ourselves, and we’re taking a moment, maybe, to step back and see ourselves in a way that maybe we didn’t before. ”
