Striving for Patient Satisfaction

Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital strives for excellence at every level of our organization. Each member of our treatment team receives ongoing training in areas ranging from crisis prevention and intervention to treatment planning, ethics and compliance issues. That commitment should be felt in how our patients receive care and that’s why we ask every patient discharged from our facility to provide us with feedback on their stay and the care they’ve received. We take great pride in our consistently high scores and our track record of integrating their suggestions into the hospital and its programs.

We asked patients in 2017 whether they felt the following queries were true about their treatment. The corresponding percentages represent the portion of patients who agreed with these statements.

  • I left the hospital feeling encouraged to help myself: 98.2%
  • I felt better at discharge then I did at admission: 97.9%
  • I was treated with respect throughout my stay: 97.8%

Awards & Recognition

Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence – Outstanding Service to the Community

For over ten years, the Chester County Suicide Prevention Task Force (CCSPTF) has brought awareness to depression and suicide prevention through The Jake Kelleher Liv Live Concerts. In September 2016, The CCSPTF teamed up once again with East Goshen Park in Chester County, PA to host its 29th Liv Live Concert Event, winning two awards for their seamless merging of music, fun, and mental and physical health.

Through the joined efforts of Stephanie Ullrich with Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital and the CCSPTF, and East Goshen’s Director of Parks and Recreation, Jason Lang, the event created a unique environment to open up the conversation about the realities of suicide and depression. After the performances of four incredibly talented volunteer artists, Jason took the stage to discuss his participation in “22-For-22: Pushups with a Purpose” Initiative, during which he completed 22 pushups per day for 22 days to bring awareness to the national statistic regarding veteran suicides. The Liv Live Concert marked the culmination of Jason’s participation, during which the performers, audience and CCSPTF joined him in completing his 22 final pushups for the initiative.

In recognition of their efforts and event, CCSPTF and East Goshen were awarded the Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence by Governor Tom Wolf, as well as the Excellence in Recreation and Parks Award by the Pennsylvania Recreation and Parks Society.
